Surfing south of the border is considered a past time for many surfers looking for empty line ups and pristine breaks but with scoring comes its own history of run ins with the cartel or been in a place where you shouldn’t have wandered.
Through the country’s hardships, one man’s tribulation looking for a better life in the US through surfing was abruptly denied when he wasn’t able to make it across borderlines. Instead of chasing events outside of the border, Israel Preciado, had an idea of bringing the words best longboarders to his beloved country of Mexico. His event the “MexiLogFest” has been one of the world's premier longboard events for the past 6 years with first-class waves, healing health clinics, board talks, and not to mention the one of the best after party of any event.
